JULIANNE KIRK-DOYLE joined the faculty of the Crane School of Music in 2006 and currently serves as Professor of Clarinet and Director of the Crane Youth Music Camp. She serves as the New York State Chair to the International Clarinet Association and the clarinet section editor for the NYSSMA manual. A sought-after clinician, Dr. Doyle has given master classes for the Southeast Asian Youth Orchestra and Wind Ensemble (Thailand), Aria Summer Music Academy, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and numerous schools and Universities. Recent conference appearances include the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, International Clarinet Association ClarinetFest, International Double Reed Society, US Navy Band Saxophone Symposium, New York State School Music Association Conference, New York State Band Directors Association, Mid-America Center for Contemporary Music and the Oklahoma Clarinet Symposium. 

An active soloist and chamber musician, she is a member of the Aria Reed Trio with fellow ONNY principal oboist Anna Hendrickson and bassoonist Carol Lowe. Aria has performed on WXXI Rochester's Live at Hochstein radio broadcast and at numerous conferences. Dr. Doyle’s debut recording Dante Dances was released in 2019 received  high praise in the International Clarinet Association’s Clarinet Journal, reviewed by renowned clarinet pedagogue Larry Guy.

Dr. Doyle serves as Principal Clarinet with the Orchestra of Northern New York, Northern Symphonic Winds, and has performed with the Lake Placid Sinfonietta, Richmond Symphony Orchestra, Amici Orchestra, Light Opera Oklahoma, Tulsa Philharmonic and Oklahoma City Philharmonic. While at Eastman, she performed regularly with the Eastman Wind Ensemble including an appearance at Carnegie Hall and a tour to Japan, Taiwan and Macau. 

She earned the Doctorate of Musical Arts, Master of Music and Arts Leadership Certificate from the Eastman School of Music and Bachelors of Music from the University of Oklahoma. She is an artist with Backun Musical Services and DANSR/Vandoren.

Julianne resides in Potsdam, NY with her family and volunteers regularly with the Potsdam Girl Scouts as a Troop Leader. She was named Volunteer of the month in May 2020 for the GSNYPenn Pathways Girl Scout Council and received the Raquette Valley Service Girl Scout Unit’s “Survivor” award in April of 2020.
