Michele Meyers, a native of Syracuse, has lived with her husband Jack in Canton for 46 years. She began college as a music major, but finished with an elementary education teaching degree. Her Master's degree in Special Education is from SUNY Potsdam and a second Master's degree in Public School Administration is from St. Lawrence University.  Michele taught at Canton Central School, and later worked in school administration for the Massena, Heuvelton and Canton School Districts. She also taught courses at SUNY Potsdam and St. Lawrence University.  Retiring as Director of Special Education from the Canton District in 2015, Michele subsequently served as principal at St. Mary's School in Canton from 2017-2019.  She has been a pianist/organist in Catholic churches since 1968. She is the chair of the Volunteer Committee and the Fundraising Events Committee.
