Nicholas Kilkenny

Nicholas Kilkenny, bass-baritone is a voice professor and performer located in Western New York. Most recent roles include Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro with Geneva Light Opera, Dulcamara in L’elisir d’amore with Buffalo Opera Unlimited, and the Narrator in Into the Woods with Cobblestone Players. Other notable roles include Méphistophélès in Faust, Lino in Bastianello, Sacristan in Tosca, Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Frank in Die Fledermaus, among others. Recent concert performances include Handel’s Messiah with the Buffalo Philharmonic, Fauré’s Requiem with Orchard Park Chorale, Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem with Nazareth College, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio with the Eastman Philharmonia, and a performance of Schubert’s Schwanengesang in recital at the Eastman School of Music. He made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2014 singing the role of Jewel Scrooby in Howard Hanson’s Merry Mount with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Nicholas received his Bachelor's in Music Education from SUNY Buffalo State and his Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in Vocal Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music. He is currently on faculty at the Crane School of Music and Nazareth College teaching applied voice and studio class.
