NIELSEN Prelude to Act II from Saul and David
HIGDON blue cathedral (1999)
BRAHMS Symphony No. 4 in E Minor

Our fall gala concert presents one of the greatest orchestral masterpieces in the orchestral repertoire — the powerful and strikingly beautiful Symphony No. 4 by Johannes Brahms. Also featured is the incomparably haunting blue cathedral by Pulitzer Prize and two-time Grammy Award Winner Jennifer Higdon. We open with the noble Prelude from Saul and David by one of the 20th century’s most eclectic composers, Carl Nielsen.
