Brooks Washburn is an architect, but has been indirectly associated with the Orchestra of Northern New York and its members since its inception and before through a life-long connection to the Crane School of Music through this parents, Robert and Beverly Washburn. Brooks is also an amateur musician being a cello and bass player.

Brooks grew up in Potsdam, then studied and worked professionally away from Northern New York for more than twenty years. He moved back to Potsdam in the 1990s, attending most of the ONNY concerts since that time.

With both an appreciation of music and musical performance, and experience with organizations and operations, Brooks looks forward to being part of the next chapter of ONNY in the many ways and places it will continue to perform for appreciative audiences.
