Spaced Out: A Musical Space Odyssey
Long before space travel became a reality, composers were motivated by what they could see—or imagine—in the heavens above. Whether it was the sun, the moon, planets, or stars, these celestial objects have been the source of some of the most inspiring and imaginative music ever heard. Join us as we take a musical interplanetary journey, courtesy of composers ranging from Haydn to John Williams, with a little birthday sojourn in honor of the grandfather of all cinematic space music, Gustav Holst.
