Guy Edrington
Principal French Horn
Guy Edrington is a French Horn Artist for Conn Selmer, the hornist for the Ottawa Chamber Players, the Avalon Trio and the Mapleleaf Horn quartet. He has performed as horn soloist on CBC, in the United States, Canada and Sweden. He was principal horn for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the Thunder Bay Symphony and for shows Les Misérables at the Royal Alexandra theatre in Toronto for 2 years.
He is active as a free-lance musician in the United States in Canada playing in recitals, with orchestras, operas and musicals. He has played with the Pelligrnini Opera, Ottawa Symphony, the Ottawa Orpheus and ASNY musical theater productions , Canadian Opera, the National Ballet, Espirt Orchestra, Hamilton Philharmonic and Opera, Toronto Symphony, Toronto Chamber Players, Atlanta Chamber Orchestra, the Arkansas Symphony, Little Rock Chamber Orchestra, Hilton Head Symphony and many more.
His principal horn teachers were Dr. Bill Capps at Florida State University and Frøydis Ree Wekre in Oslo Norway where he studied horn and chamber music. He has taught at Lakehead University, the Royal Conservatory in Toronto and is currently the horn teacher at Carleton University.
