Mark Prasuhn
Director
Mark Prasuhn is President and General Manager of WPBS-TV in Watertown, New York. Since joining WPBS in 2019 he has overseen the launch of the station’s first current affairs program in decades, WPBS Weekly: Inside the Stories; a full rebranding of the station and relaunch of its website and mobile app; initiated livestreaming and launch on Youtube TV and DirectTV Stream; and initiated relationships with Canadian partners such that WPBS now airs more Canadian content than any other PBS border station.
Mark was previously President of CMU College in Toronto, North America's leading school for makeup artistry and creature & character design for the film, TV, digital media and theatre industries. He holds an M.B.A. from the Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto and a B.F.A. (Film Production) from York University, and also attended Queen’s University in Kingston. His career in the media industry began at TVOntario in Toronto (often referred to as “the PBS of Canada”). He subsequently served as General Manager of SaskFILM, the funding agency and film commission for the province of Saskatchewan; COO of Minds Eye Pictures, one of Canada’s leading production companies specializing in feature films and live-action television series; COO of national cable channel VisionTV and Zoomer Media in Toronto; and founding General Manager of Ottawa-based international cooking channel GustoTV.
Although Mark harbors no musical talent he is a lifelong aficionado with an extensive digital and vinyl collection. He enjoys live music performances especially those involving his daughter (piano and cello) and son (jazz drums).
